According to the MOOCC, there were 561 opioid-related and 660 non-opioid-related deaths in the first quarter of 2020. That is 1,221 substance-abuse-related deaths in only the first three months of 2020. Substance abuse is a state-wide issue that has sadly taken many lives, and we want to keep it from taking more.
In 2015, Brooke Simmers asked her dad to build or buy a home for her to operate and help others overcome addiction, avoiding what she went through. Regretfully, Brooke lost her battle that same year. Her dad, keeping his promise, founded Brooke’s House in 2019.
Brooke’s House’s mission is to inspire and empower women suffering from substance use disorders by providing them a safe, stable, and emotionally supportive living environment while in the early stages of recovery.
